The self-proclaimed "Greatest Rock Band in the World" Tenacious D hit the big screen late last year with Tenacious D In The Pick Of Destiny. The film tells the heartwarming tale of how Jack Black and Kyle Gass became known to the world as "The D" (spoiler alert: birthmarks on their butt cheeks.) I remember seeing an advance screening hosted by Stranded In Stereo at CMJ last year, and I laughed a lot (I still think Borat wins for funniest movie of 2006.) The feature presentation culls 19 songs from their winter arena tour, while the DVD features 6 bonus performances from their summer tour with TV On The Radio and Bauhaus. Being the audio and visual compulsive he is, Trent Reznor presents the show to you in either standard DVD or HD DVD/Blu-Ray. This should tide over most fans who are eagerly anticipating the new NIN record, Year Zero, which Interscope will release on April 17th.
