New Release Tuesday: Beach House

It was about a year ago that I had discovered the self-titled debut from Beach House, a Baltimore duo whose songs are eerily romantic. Through the use of drum machines, keys and a little guitar, Victoria Legrand and Alex Scally don't change too much on their sophomore effort, Devotion. The band follows the same aesthetic as the last time around, keeping things lo-fi while making them that much clearer. "Master Of None" was one of the most played songs on my iTunes library last year, and I won't be surprised if "Holy Dances" or their take on the Daniel Johnston track "Some Things Last A Long Time" doesn't take the cake this year.

Here's the video for "You Came To Me"

The band will be hitting the road this week with The Papercuts, kicking off in their hometown of Baltimore on the 28th.
